Bait and switch! Damaged opened item received
I do not recommend. This item was listed as new item in new condition and priced as such.
The item I received however was an opened package that was also very damaged inside the shipping box, which was in perfect condition.
Had the item been listed as an opened package with damage and priced accordingly it wouldn’t have been an issue.

Great game, good scenery and models. Easy to learn despite GW messing up their tutorial video (wow that was a mess) and there are rules for all AoS models for use (sold sepreately)

Yeah, they’re nice doors with skulls and stuff, but you don’t get the deployment cards you need to play the game as it’s designed, you don’t get the chaotic beasts, you get doors. Oh, and a couple plastic bridges too. yay.

My afterschool gaming club requested that I purchase this game. The group was interested in Warhammer, but no one really had the resources to purchase full armies. The models are excellent and despite the shadow elves being a little fiddly we were able to get everything assembled over the course of two afterschool meetings.
When we attempted to play the game everyone got a bit bummed out. Mechanically the game itself was pretty simple with some novel complexity coming from creating dice pools that unlock special abilities for your warband. The problem was that the book instructed us to generate terrain layouts, deployments, win conditions, and twists using cards not included with the game. It also referenced wandering monster models that can be recruited by the warbands that were also not included in the box. Now, we did find that pictures of the cards were referenced toward the back of the book, but then again disappointed when we realized that our core set didn’t include all of terrain needed to create those table layouts. Now the game is still fun and we are making due, but everyone couldn’t help but feel a little deflated that we were not able to access the full experience after having spent $180 dollars.

Best skirmish game I’ve played. Fun. Well balanced. Usually generates edge of your seat games that take less than an hour to play. The Catacombs variant is a ton of fun, and the Catacombs components in this set are top notch. My complaint about this set is that the above-ground terrain is lacking. It does not match the original starter set, and is not compatible with the board layouts in the core rule book, the faction books or the WarCry card set. This oversight was egregiously stupid and easily avoidable. Really, what kind of idiot at Games Workshop thought it was acceptable to replace the starter set with something completely different that is incompatible with the other WarCry products and is so far off it isn’t even compatible with the core rules for the game?
