Purchased in part to obtain the enclosed rulebook which by itself is half the cost. This makes the figures a kind of extra (in a weird kind of thinking, I suppose). Still the sculpting of the figures from Warlord is always first class.

I did not realise how much DIY you need to do in order to have completed miniatures. Some really small part too. A real pain and far from enjoyable.

Doesn’t come with bases which is only really inconvenient because it isnt mentioned. After getting some proper bases this box is amazing. It contains the rulebook and enough miniatures for a small scale game for two, or alternatively a pretty solid brigade for a single player. With this box, some bases, and a canon I have a perfectly competent pike and shotte army.
Would be five stars but having to get the bases separately was a pain.

Bought this set for the rulebook. Basically the minis are free. I painted them up as Dutch. Not strongly interested in ECW but love pike and shotte in europe. Biggest issue with this set are NO BASES. 2nd issue was poor selection of head gear.
A good starter set overall and will buy 1 more for the extra rulebook.

I have purchase this box couple of times. You get a set of rules in large print enough of figure to do two small group or one regiment. Figure are easy to put together with clipper and plastic glue
