    This is a great game for everyone over the age of 5 or 6. It can be played alone or with a group. This is the 3rd one we have ordered. The hardware on the first one broke, so we ordered a new one. The second one was surprisingly much thinner than the first – about half the depth. We liked the original one better because it did a better job of keeping the dice in the box. Then, we ordered one for a friend who was incapacitated with a broken leg and the original size arrived! Although the smaller version would have been easier for her to hold on her lap in her wheelchair, she still liked it. We’re going to order a new one for ourselves and hope the original, larger size arrives.

    This review is not for the “Shut the Box” game, it’s merely for the quality of the box for my intended purpose. I’m using the box for Dungeons and Dragons. It’s a fantastic little box to use as a dice tray as well as for storing dice bags, spell cards, and any miniatures you may need. The build quality is very good and the clasp closes nicely. Overall, I would recommend.

    I was originally looking to buy the 9-number version of this game. However the reviews on craftmanship for this particular game were consistently high, so I bought it instead. I am not disappointed. The box is very well made and sturdy. The bottom is covered in felt so it sits nicely on a table. The size is perfect. Not too cramped to roll the dice. The numbers flip freely without drag. The clasp is nicely made and works well. It was definitely worth the few extra dollars.

    Good implementation of an old game. Nicely made with felt on the bottom as well as inside.the base. The “hatches” have numbers on both sides and it comes complete with dice and instructions. Simple to play but fun. Also good to help kids practise their maths.
