   Not sure why this set is called wood expressions, there is nothing remotely wood or wood-ish about it. The pieces are very light plastic, not really much weight to them at all and the mat is a vinyl material. I was not happy with this set. Upon arrival the first thing I noticed was that nothing matched accurately with the pictures shown in the listing. The bag that houses everything was different from what was pictured. The pieces were much lower quality than what was shown and the bottom red velvet was peeling off of them. The mat was very scratched up and has a very strong plastic smell to it. Overall, not happy in the least bit. I will be returning this set. Had the description and pictures matched the actual product, I would have never bought this. Sorry guys.

   After using the chess set for a few weeks now, I must say that the quality is top notch and the pieces are as advertised.

   The weight of the chess pieces are decent and will not easily fall down and the mat is decently weaved as well leaving little room for tear but since the mat is very thin, it easily lets into creases which might be a downside for some people.

   One thing I must note though, and the reason why I detached a star, is that the bag does not seem to be meant for the chess set at all. There are many nooks and crannies that I can probably use to carry around different things, say if I’m a professional chess player but even then, all these areas are quite useless and only adds bulk to the bag itself.

   If you need a chess set that’s easy to move around, this might be a great find for many but , I would say that there are many more you can get for better price.

   Everything was as described…. the board is not as flexible as other sets I have scene and does not roll out flat right away. if it did I would have given 5 stars

   El tableor y el estuche son perfectos, el peso de las piezas pod’ria ser mucho mayor para dar esa sencación de torneo, creo que es lo único que falta para ser 5 estrellas

   This is a very nice chess set. It is indistinguishable from the one that is from wood expressions and 10 dollars cheaper. (minus the bag) I thought the bag was pretty worthless myself. I bought 2 one with the bag first then gambled on the second one that didnt have the bag. The bag does hold the stuff but the inner lining is a real thin material I feel wont hold up well. The rest is a thin kind of canvas that is OK. just not great. The pieces are great, well made good weight, perfect size. The board is the standard board you are expecting. Nice quality thick vinyl. I did not have any of the complaints other reviewers had. Just that the bag was “chinsy” Great price tho for the pieces and the good board, maybe I am being too harsh on the board.
