   Our first game played out very cinematically. Running back to save our archer from a giant troll. Then having to run to the other side of the cavern to save our halfling rouge from a swarm of monsters. My friend playing the halfling was constantly being brutalised and disheartened at being the weaker party member but saved the day and won the scenario in the end by sneaking past and taking the final treasure. Just like his character from the books! 10/10

   My Hubby and I have wanted to play D&D for a long time, but we live in a rural area and can’t find others to play with. For some reason we are intimidated by playing online, so we first bought the Castle Ravenloft and I quickly purchased this game.

   The miniatures are actually really good, especially considering there are 40 of them. The board pieces are sturdy with clear images.

   The instructions on this game are well done and there are plenty of adventures to get started with. I really like the fact that the games in this series can be combined for new adventures. This has quickly become our go-to game.
   

6. Dungeons and Dragons Board Game Verified Buyer – 29 April 2025

   I have really gotten into solo gaming the last year and I have been looking for a good D&D type game. The Legend of Drizzt does not create an immersive RPG environment but it does a decent job of capturing a D&D feel. This game is a hack and slash dungeon crawler. I have enjoyed the best playing solo; I found playing it with multiple people was a little tedious as the turns dragged on. I think a dungeon crawler should be fast-paced and the best way to accomplish that is to play solo. Still, it is a nice introduction to the D&D world for my kids and it is a step up from Dungeon the board game. We have the newer version of Dungeon which has Forgotten Realms characters. My son enjoyed seeing these characters in this game. The miniatures are very good. I only occasionally paint minis, but I am looking forward to painting these. I enjoy the Drizzt books so playing through the scenarios as they loosely follow the books is fun. Also, playing as Jarlaxle is pretty cool. This is the first game I have picked up in this series. I plan on getting more for sure.
