The board and tiles are beautiful, but the set is not really practical for working sudoku because of the setup and cleanup time. Pencil and paper is much faster, except maybe for the sight-impaired.
Also, people who like to use the tiny crib-note tiles for the harder puzzles may find (as we did) that there are not enough of them.
We use the set for really hard sudoku that take 30 mins or more. Otherwise, we just leave it on the coffee table, as it makes an attractive conversation piece.
The set gets five stars for attractiveness and two stars for fun and practicality. I rounded down the overall rating because I had hoped we would actually use the set.

As a new Sudoku player I find this makes it much easier to learn the game. The only thing that bothers is that some of the small “thinker” tiles are cut too large to fit 4 into a square. However, as I improve maybe this will be irrelevant.
It is a great board and I have ordered another for someone’s Christmas present.

This is a great board! We love having the numbers in two different colors and we love having the thinking tiles. The board is well made and being able to put the tiles away in drawers is great. It’s nice enough to leave sitting out, but also comes in a sturdy box if you’d like to put it away. The grid on top is also nice so the tiles don’t slide around. A few of the numbers are printed a little off center, but that doesn’t bother me. I really have no complaints. We love this board and so do others when we’ve given it as a gift. I like that I am no longer searching for good sudoku books or printable puzzles online.
My only issue right now is I’m trying to order another one for a gift and it hasn’t been available for the past few weeks until now, when Dorm Room Games began offering it at over twice the price. I bought my other boards just two months ago for $30, free shipping, and they are asking $50 plus $15 shipping, which is ridiculous. I’m hoping it is offered again soon at a reasonable price.

I love my new game! I can set it up and work it as i like. I can use any sudoku puzzle book with it. The board is beautiful and so are the tiles. It is REAL wood, nice, smooth, with two drawers that slide out on either side for storing tiles under the playing board. I love it, too because tiles fit in the grids and are easy to change in and out. I have MS and my hands are nimble, but they are numb, so this is important for my enjoyment of the set. The tiles are printed in black on one side and red on the other with the numbers 9 and 6 underlined. The little chunky “thinking” tiles are nice to have for possible solutions. Great idea!
I appreciated reading the history of the game and the other printed information. There is a sheet that contains puzzles and solutions on the back, but the print is very small and very light. Still nice that it is included.
This would make a great gift for anyone who enjoys puzzles.

I will start off my saying my mother and wife are very happy with their new games. My complaint lies with boardgamesweekly.com not WE Games. I tried to order this game through boardgamesweekly.com U.S. at a price of 20.00 US each which included free shipping. Of course since I live in Canada I expected to pay extra for Customs duties and postage, but I was directed to boardgamesweekly.com Canada for my purchase. Total price of both games shipped was around the 130.00 mark which in my mind is total gouging on the part of boardgamesweekly.com. A customer of boardgamesweekly.coms should be allowed to make his/her own choices without being forced to shop elsewhere. I am not and have not been a huge shopper at boardgamesweekly.com, but I was leaning toward the company the more I shopped online. Unless things change in the favour of the consumer I will not be spending another dime with boardgamesweekly.com.
