A perfect expansion! A small bit of it is bug-fixing for the game itself. The rest is the designers listening to the players/reviewers of the original game and directly addressing all of its mechanical flaws and missteps. Then it goes a half-step farther and adds some fun new options. Definitely a required add if you already own the base Xia.

This expansion is the icing on an already tasty cake. The extra cards, ships, sectors, etc…
I can’t say enough good about this. My favorite part is the additional components you can buy for your ship. Do you like mining in asteroids/nebulas but don’t like ship combat? Buy the Enviro shields. Do you like doing missions? Buy an M computer. Do you like cargo runs? Purchase a cargo hold.
The anomalies add a super nice touch also. You move into a sector with arrow lines and your ship moves by itself. Twice I was moved into a debris field.
The solotaire rules suck!!! Even on the easiest setting, you can’t win and the game ends pretty quick. I blame the NPC rules. They are made stronger than the normal game, but now they all gang up on you since their is no other player. I have read that the Sellsword is needed to win the solo game. In other words, don’t expect this to be a solitaire game. With other players it’s a blast, though. And yes, 2 players is just as good as 3 with this expansion.
