Like the combination between a traditional board game and a virtual game that uses your phone as a pirate ship.

Neat, innovative mechanics coupled with gorgeous production values make this game sing.
Once players understand the rules through the brief and learn-as-you-play style tutorial, the turns move by quickly while still keeping the other players engaged. Fighting is quick but graphically amusing, and the “take that” element can be embraced or avoided depending on your play style. Even the game length can be adjusted by setting a point limit before the game begins, and games save in case you need to call it a night and resume later.
As of today, there are still some annoying grammatical and spelling errors in the app, but nothing to detract too severely from this overall intriguing, fun, and beautiful package. Highly recommended!

This is a very fun augmented reality game. You basically put your phone on the board and it acts as your ship. You slide your phone around to move, pick it up to check stats and shop at ports, and you can even battle players that are nearby and watch as your ship moves onto their phone to attack. My friends and I really enjoy this game a lot. My only gripe is that if you want to check facebook or something on your phone quick, it will stop the game and you have to replay the last turn once you’re all connected again. I wish they’d fix this so that it only stops the game if you fully quit the app and not just pause it.

I have to admi when I saw a review for this boardgame, I was very intrigued. You use a cell phone app along with the game board to play. You play as the captain of a pirate ship, and you choose various missions to complete to get points. Missions can also give you money to upgrade your ship or buy weapons so that you can attack other ships to again get points. You set the length of the game by choosing how many points it takes to win.
Everything is done on the app (selecting your captain, ship, missions, etc), but then the magic happens. You place the phone onto the board, and it becomes your ship. As you move along the board, the surroundings match the game board. It really is cool. Monsters can attack your ship, weather can hinder you, and other ships can attack you as well. The animation for these events take place on the phone, and really is neat. The sound effects are great as well.
There are a couple of things that should be pointed out. First, the app is very large so try to download it via WiFi. Second, when moving your ship (phone) from one tile to another, the ship may not actually go to the tile you wanted because movement can be finicky because of the way your phone’s accelerometer works. This is resolved easily by a button on the screen where you can tell it where you meant to go. Finally, since you’re phone will be on during the entire game, you’ll want to make sure you’re fully charge or have a battery backup nearby.
All in all, we have really enjoyed playing this game. We’ve also found it is a great way to pull younger people who normally only play online into playing a boardgame.

This game was high on my excitement list to play as you need a smart phone and a free app to play this game. One I got it, I immediately got it on the table and found that this game feels like it takes too long for a turn to come back around. The animations the app provides and the hidden/random encounters does make this a well received addition to my collection.

boardgamesweekly.com evidently posted a negative review from me for another seller on this seller’s feedback. I purchased World of YoHo from this seller and have an absolutely no problems with Shopzone. The board game came in perfect condition and I’m very happy with the whole transaction.

App not compatible with new phones making it literally unplayable

pretty boring roll and move game. The app struggled to recognize movement and the correct squares on the board. I used two different phones: same result. I don’t recommend it. Lack of fun.
