   Mario Party 9 is a game full of competition throughout a large amount of mini-games for you to play. This game is truly meant to be played with a “Party” of friends though it is not necessary as it does feature a solo mode for single play. I started out playing solo mode and while you can immediately see why the game is more fun with people, the computer can still be an entertaining challenge for you, but it’s just not the same thing. I’m not saying you won’t enjoy the game in solo mode, for there are more than enough games that are fun for you to enjoy. However, this game is so much more enjoyable with actual friends as you all cheer and cry as you traverse the board. Cheer because it isn’t very difficult to win and cry because it is extremely easy to lose!

   I love the new method of playing and traversing the “boards”. Gone are the frantic free for alls as everyone is out for themselves on the board. Now, everyone travels together in a car and the board has a beginning and an end. I personally like this change because it does quicken the process. Gone are the days where one game would last over and hour and a half. These boards are meant to be completed in as little as half an hour, and personally I think its great.

   Fun, but playful too, if that makes sense. The characters are so cute when they’re running around, you can’t help but be happy. Boo’s Horror Castle is juuust spooky enough

   There’s a lot of opinions about Mario Party 8 vs 9. The big difference in 9 is that everyone is in one vehicle aka game pieces. So this means you move as a group. This doesn’t make the game easier or impact fairness though. When your character is driving then your character is the one affected by both bonuses and traps. It does however move the other character past these benefits or bad spots on the board. You may have no choice but to say, lose 10 stars just by rolling a dice when it’s your turn or you may be moved past the bonus you needed to get ahead. This changes the strategy from 8 because you aren’t only rolling for your turn you are also rolling while thinking of the next players turn. I enjoy the added puzzles this new format presents.

   There are also different and more games in this edition, I definitely noticed that I have more variety in mini games now. Honestly they are both great games for different reasons and I highly getting recommend both as they are that unique.

   I’m not a big video game fan. We have a wii that we don’t use too often. My kids don’t play fortnight, in fact they almost never play wii. Because their ages are a little spaced out (14 and 9) it’s sometimes hard to get the 14 year old to give out 9 year old the sister play time she wants. Well one of them saw a video of this game on YouTube and asked for it. And they never really ask for stuff like that so I was like okay why not. Well there are so many different games on this game that they LOVE itand don’t get bored from it. They are spending more time together and having fun, and want my husband and I to play with them too sometimes. I would not have thought a video game would add to more family time but it has. Definitely worth the money.

    If you’re into all Mario Party Games, than go for it. No scratches, no marks, clean, and packaged safe. But after the playing the game, I realized it could be the worst Mario Party game in the series. But it’s still a good game to play for all, this is in my opinion.
