I played this game for the first time at GenCon, and the designer was the one leading the demo! I can’t say enough good things about this game. It is perfect for a family game night, a classroom, or a warm up for D&D. It has infinite replay value, and you can use any combination of Story Cubes. I’m purchasing two copies- one for my classroom, and one for home!

We have enjoyed using the story cubes on their own in the past. Just throw the dice and use your imagination to tell a short story. The Untold Adventures Await game really encourages you to develop a complete story (aka “episode’ for a whole on going series) with characters, locations and goals to keep everything moving towards an action packed climax.

I do not understand why kids love this game so much but I have not played this with a kid and it did not get them to open up and talk and be comfortable. It engages their imagination and you can start to see some underlining themes. When ever I have a kid that refuses to talk to me this game comes out the next session.

I’m specifically writing this review to people who have been Dungeon Masters playing Dungeons and Dragons who now have young kids over the age of 4. That is by no means a requirement to like this game at all, let me say if that is you, you should just buy this game. This is a very very simple game, but it does what you want. It gives you interesting situations where you don’t know what’s going to happen when go into them, and cool and interesting things happen once you do. It’s really amazing what you can do with just a few dice. Our current adventure is that there is a farm that is breeding turtles to be bad. There was just a huge event at a dance contest where nearly everyone ate magic acorns that would turn them bad. And if you think that’s bad, the adventure before that were were in a plane crashed by a turtle that was going under the ocean and all the ice cream was melting. See, if we had gotten this ice cream to the magic forest, we would have turned everyone good, but we didn’t. And now in the second adventure we tried again and failed again. These turtles are really a problem. I am Reginald the bus driver, my 7 year old is Lily the doctor, (who just got a new friend Lulu the snake last game) and my 4 year old has been Loving Style the Librarian but switched to Flower Girl the builder.

First off, the quality of the components of this game are awesome. The premise is cool, it’s an RPG that holds your hands throughout. The final scene comes before you’ve really set anything up and is totally anti-climatic. Sorry, but I couldn’t recommend this to anyone. The 6-10 age group didn’t like this nor did their parents.

Seriously my favorite new boardgame. It combines story cubes with a role-playing game and makes for a blast, with the right people. I will say that our games tend to go on for hours, much longer than the suggested play time, but maybe that’s because we get into it so much. A great option for imaginative people and beginning role-players. Very Fun!

Here is a unique thing. Partially board game, mostly cooperative story-telling, it combines Rory’s Story Cubes, a board, story prompts including a clever scene framing opener, and tokens to focus action by asking questions and having your heroic alter-egos perform actions. This results in a fun, satisfying collaborative tale told in about an hour.
Those familiar with roleplaying games will find some familiar elements, but Untold is not quite that. The creators pave new directions with this creative and brilliant game. It’s great for families, groups of any age during game night, and even works solo. It’s a great way to exercise your creativity, have silly fun, or even help laying ground for writing scripts, stories, or cartoons.
Components of the game are not only well-made, but look stunning.

This is a great episodic story game. I am excited to see how our characters develop. Unexpected events created tension without hindering the gameplay. I am very glad I added this game to our collection.
