1. You have to put the stickers onto the coin pieces yourself. Not a big deal but that means it won’t look as good as if it had been done beforehand.
2. When you assemble the rack, it DOESN’T COME APART!!! You’re stuck with it being put together forever now.
3. Once it’s assembled, it DOEN’T FIT IN THE BOX!!! The box is completely useless now.
4. The instructions are absolute trash. If you follow the rules as written, then the person who goes first wins every single time. Seriously, every time. We invented several modified ways to play the game and had a better time.
5. Even with each set of the modified rules, the game eventually always boils down to a stalemate, unless one player is willing to allow their opponent to get points, basically for free. If neither opponent is willing to budge, then the game won’t end.
6. The instructions are missing a step to assemble the rack. Sure, it’s a super simple step to do, but that’s irrelevant. Every necessary step should be listed!!!
7. The entire process of learning how to play this game was confusing and aggravating. This game is garbage.

As someone else said, this is basically two player candy crush. Whomever goes first wins because it’s too easy. Whomever designed this game’s mechanics obviously never played it. Candyland is a more competitive game than this one. 0/5 spend your money elsewhere. There’s plenty of amazing games for kids out there. Don’t waste your money on Hasbro smashups.

Bought this for my son’s Candyland birthday party. Cute spin on traditional game. It’s played a bit differently than regular Connect 4.

Wow! This just might be the worst game I’ve ever played. I honestly think I’d get more enjoyment from the “war” card game than this dud. The game has very little to do with Candyland other than the loose association to sweets. Cupcakes and Bon Bons? What happened to peanut brittle, ice cream floats and gingerbread men? And the association to Connect4 is only through the game grid and game pieces – actual gameplay has nothing to do with Connect4.
The game plays more like Candy Crush than either of the games named on the box. I suspect this was a way to get around paying for the rights to use the name Candy Crush. But, even if the game was named appropriately, it would still be a total snooze. Match up rows of 2, 3 or 4 candies. Or pop out a candy and drop it back on top. With any level of strategy applied to this game it will quickly devolve into a stalemate. Yawn – save your money.
