1. Review – Dominion Big Box 2nd Edition Verified Buyer – 10 March 2024

   Not only is this classic game one of my favorite deck builders (or just favorite games) of all time, but the Intrigue expansion has been my preferred expansion simply for the fact that it’s a simple first-timer friendly addition of new cards that requires none of the extra bells and whistles of later expansions. Simply put, that makes this my favorite combination of game and game expansions to carry around from group of friends to group of friends. But speaking of carrying it around: it’s just as big as the title implies. If you ever wanted to bring a smaller version of this game to a party, well too bad. You’ll have to lug around and scare new players away with this imposing box (see photo to compare the Big Box to the original game). That being said, for 50 dollars??? That’s basically only 10 dollars more than the base game. And to address others reviews that complain about the fact that the cards are stored vertically instead of horizontally: I don’t think this is a nuisance at all – in fact – I think it’s better that way. For one thing, it lets you see the card titles more clearly.

   My family loves to play games and we have a collection of over a hundred that we rotate between but this is the first game that my whole extended family has enjoyed (15 people, 4 different family units, between ages 11 & 85). It has taken the place of all our other games. After a year and a half we are still far from bored of it. The different combinations of cards makes it a new game every time. These two sets are the perfect starter option for new players. You will become hooked and want to add all the expansions (which add even more depth to the experience). A must have for family games night.

   Excelente paquete, lo compré junto con Dominion Prosperity para así tener una cantidad decente de sets de juego. Soy nuevo en Dominion y me ha encantado, tanto que ya compré otra expansión: Seaside. Recomiendo ver varios videos en youtube sobre reseñas y cómo se juega. Si te llama la atención la dinámica de deck-building, este es el paquete que debes comprar primero, de preferencia en oferta ya que sí es caro y la calidad de las tarjetas no es tan bueno, pero el juego lo vale para mí. La caja es enorme pero sirve para tener todo en órden.

   Learned this deck building game at a friend’s house while visiting over the holidays. Loved it so much that I ordered it as soon as I got home and have been playing regularly every since. Fun game with lots of opportunity for strategizing and enough cards that every game is different,. Have since bought some expansion packs which add even more variety and fun.

   The original deckbuilder, still the best. The variety in this box alone is outstanding and likely enough for hundreds of plays. Loads of strategy that is different with each play and it’s our school night chill game. I’ll likely be playing this still when I’m walking with a zimmerframe.

   But beware, this box is enormous. It needs to be as there are over a thousand cards but don’t expect this to fit easily in a Kalax. Does come with a nice internal organiser
