   I’ll start by saying this is a very sweet game. I like how the directions encourage you to “just start playing” and learn as you play. You do need to print the coloring book and guide on your own, which is why I am giving it 4 stars. At the price point, I was expecting to have the coloring book and guide included. So that was kind of a letdown. Especially if you don’t have access to a printer.
   For the game to truly be educational, you need the guide.

   I had been looking at this game for a long time, but I didn’t know if it would be good for adults with varying levels of knowledge about plants. I thought it might help me learn about herbs, but I also wanted it to be fun for my adult daughters, who have a lot of this type of knowledge. I finally got a chance to play it, and it is great. I went home and ordered it pretty quickly.

   The game is somewhat cooperative–you each progress independently but the total goal can be reached together. As you hike up the trail, you have problems like a skinned knee or upset stomach, and you have to use your collected herbs to solve them. It sounds like it could be boring, but it’s actually well done and pretty fun.

   My son-in-law had played it for years, since he was a child, but he still was very happy to play it again and show it to me, and the rest of us who had never played it also had fun with it. It’s not a super challenging game, but we enjoy less intense games, too, and this one was very good.

   This game is truly as great as we thought it would be! Rave reviews from our 5 year old, who asks to play it at least once a day. We printed off the field guide and story (included in the bonus downloads!) and use those while playing, turning the experience into a very educational one as well as super fun! Highly recommend, and if herbalism is important to you and your family, make the investment in this game/legit herbal resource.

   Colorful gameboard reminiscent of chutes and ladders. Informative cards that introduce several common plants. The cards work similarly to Sorry. The biggest difference from either of the two classic games is that no one wins until everyone wins. There are several cards that allow players to help each other reach Grandma’s house with their load of berries and other goodies. Stories and extended information about the plants is optional, but are available to extend the fun. It is an excellent kitchen table game for long winter evenings.

   My son and I played. I got washed down the waterfall twice! Educational and very fun for ages 4 and up. The child matched the picture on the plant card to the picture on the ailment card so reading is not required but helps. While competitive in getting to the top of the mountain and back to grandma’s first, the game encourages helping others through helper cards as well. Great value!

   This game is amazing. There is so much to say about it. I love how it teaches herbalism in a way that easy for kids, and adults, to make such easy connections. I was the only one in the family that knew anything about herb use, and now thanks to this game the kids are remember facts about stinging nettle, dandelion, and so many more.    We got this game for our 4-year-old as a Christmas gift, we all liked the game and we’re all learning thanks to it. Our son still doesn’t understand all of the game but he enjoys the process of playing with both of his parents. We’re sure that later he will be able to really understand the game and the rules.

   Very fun game! It has great quality with thick, sturdy cards. Easy to learn. My 4 & 7 year olds love it, and we enjoyed playing with their 5 & 8 year old cousins. There were 6 of us playing, so the mom’s helped the younger two and the older two teamed up to make us 3 teams. Can be quite a long game though!

    Great game. If played the traditional way it is quite long. We adapt it based on how long we want to ply for. It’s easy to change rules and make it your own. Very informative and educational. My kids have learnt so much!

    The best board game we have! My favorite part is that it encourages teamwork instead of racing to the end against your family members. My youngest is a sore looser and this game eliminated the struggle.
    My next favorite is multiple engagement levels. All players are getting to a destination and coming home, the sun is setting, there are trouble they encounter on the way, they find aids and they are able to help each other.
    As a nice bonus on top of all that the players are learning herbalism.
    I’d give 7 stars if I could 🙂

    I LOVE this game! My 6 year old can’t get enough of it. I also got one for my 5 year old niece, and she loves it too! My 3 year old loves it, but he doesn’t last very long without messing up the board or wanting to keep his “ailments.” My 11th and 12th grade Environmental Research students had a good time playing too! It’s great to learn about medicinal plants!
