   It’s solidly constructed, but I bought it mainly to have a 10×10 board for boardgamesweekly.coms, International Checkers, and chess variants. The squares on the 10×10 board aren’t really big enough for large standard checkers (or poker chips for boardgamesweekly.coms), only the small wooden checkers which come with the board. They’re not really big enough for standard chess pieces either.

   We recently got a nice wooden chess set and when I saw this checker set, I had to have it. I have to admit that I have never heard of Russian checkers, but am very interested in playing it. When I review a product, the price is not what I am focused on. This will not be an exception, even though it is pricey, you know the cost going in. But I will say that it is a nice, heavy wood board, and the checkers themselves are wood also. There was mention of the finish not being that good in other reviews but this board was not too bad. There are a few spots that have imperfections, but maybe at this price point there should not be any. Also, I think there should be at minimum a felt bag or something to store the board and/or checkers in. It has nothing, just in a cardboard box with little protection. Be aware as well that because it is a 2-sided board, there are no felt pads to protect your table – which is understandable but you should be aware of that. All in all, it is a nice board and the checkers themselves are ok, but I think that the finish and packaging could be better.

    I love the double sided checkerboard, but i really wish it came with a proper carrying case. Got this because they sell extra peices – vital if you have kids.

    It’s easy to find 64 square checker/chess boards, but much harder to find 100 square boards for International Draughts and this has both solid thick wood form, and good wooden checkers, enough for either version.
