Breaking Barriers Down is a fun way of opening up communication between child & therapist. Please note that not all the cards are suitable for young children so you need to read over them first. The child will need to be able to communicate in some way to play this game.

As a therapist, I highly recommend this game. It’s great for kids and teens – especially for building social skills and building rapport. The size is perfect and it’s easy to play for all ages. My one critique is that the blocks are not all even, which lowers the quality of the game itself.

It is fun to play. Good price. I’ve used it many times. It is a little harder to stack than a traditional jenga because the paint is a little slick, but some people think that makes it more challenging.

I use this game with kids and families all the time. It’s a great trust builder, conversation opener, and great opportunity to discuss things between families that normally might not be. Love it, use it all the time

I’ve used this is sessions with clients, great way to eliminate intimidation around being vulnerable. Questions aren’t too deep and personal, making it great for building rapport with a new client. Highly recommend for every therapist.

My partner is a children’s play therapist and she loves using this with all of her clients.

This is a wonderful game for working on communicating feelings and coping strategies. The only complaint that I have is the painted blocks are too smooth and it is hard for the game to stay stacked. An idea for the game would’ve been to dye the wooden blocks rather than paint them.

This has been a great tool working with teens. It encourages conversation and helps build rapport. It is highly rated by the teens that I work with as a mental health therapist.
