This game is awesome.

Neat miniatures. 40 page unclear tutorial before you even get into the overly complicated act of playing the game. Unlikely this will see the light of day for more than a year as the learning curve is so steep you’ll never find anyone who wants to commit to 4 hours to learn how to play.

While this was purchased elsewhere, I thought I’d share my thoughts on the game here.
Star Trek: Into the Unknown is an excellent, albeit challenging miniatures game that combines elements of tabletop wargames with the classic feel of Star Trek episodes. The learning curve is a bit steep, although that is due more to the sheer amount of options you have on your turn rather than a bunch of hard to learn mechanics. If you are new to the game, I would recommend watching Crabbok’s playthrough videos on YouTube. You will learn how to play much faster than just powering through the rulebook.
As for the minis themselves, while they might be improved with a little touchup paint, they look great overall. Definitely better than the Attack Wing minis. Plus, this time they’re all in scale.
Overall, a fun game. My only complaint it the glacial pace of release for new expansions.
