   This starter set is fantastic! 2 Tie Fighters and 1 X wing each with multiple pilots come in the box plus everything else you need to play. Only gripe is not enough dice for some combat situations (you can order more separately or get the star wars dice app). The game is a blast to play and easy to learn! You can order a cool play mat too!

   Amazing game! super engaging, fun, challenging, has everything you need to start the game and opens room for expansion ships. Pleny of options to keep this game always new and different. There are multiple pilot cards for each ship as well as upgrades that make it even more flexible.
   Aside from the Tie fighters being slanted (at an angle) pointing a bit to the side rather than forward on the stand, the models are very pretty and highly detailed! I love it!! can’t wait to start expanding collection.
   Bear in mind that the Force Awaken starter set is also available and the ships in it have different abilities and pilots so do some research as they are equally fun but one might suit your style better than other. Or get them both!

   I’ve generally shied away from miniatures games in the past but as a reasonable human being I love “Star Wars,” so I finally broke down and gave this game a shot. WHY DID I WAIT!!! This is an amazing game that really does feel like a tactical dogfight between an X-Wing and Tie-Fighters. The mechanic is wonderful, especially movement. Between the movement dials and the templates (one of the reasons I took so long picking it up is that I’ve always made fun of the guys at the game stores with the tape measures- not necessary here!) moving your ships is a simple thing to execute, though an incredible complex maneuver to plan (in a good way) because of all the choices you have to make. Do you flip a U-turn, putting stress on your ship and limiting your actions? Do you bank hard right, in the hopes that you’ll be out of your opponents firing arc? Or do you simply push forward, trading space for time in the hopes of circling around later for a more favorable attack vector? Absolutely brilliant! Once upon a time board games based on movies or TV almost always sucked. Makers slapped a logo on an inferior product, knowing it would sell with the tie-in alone. There are still some cases like that today (see the atrocious board game, “World War Z”), but fortunately game designers are really taking their time these days, working not just to invoke the tie-in’s theme, but really trying to present a great mechanic that makes the game fun in its own right. Take away the “Star Wars” theme here and you’d still have a great game. “Star Trek: Fleet Captains” is a another great example of a fun tie-in theme married to a great mechaninc, and I hear that Wizkids is now planning “Star Trek: Attack Wing,” a miniatures game which will function in much the same way as “Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures.” Looking forward to that as well. Intense, fast-paced, and endlessly FUN, “Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures” is simply a great game. Buy it. Play it. Love it.

   全て英語表記ですが、某動画サイトにプレイ動画がたくさんアップされているので、だいたいのルールはそれで理解できます。
   我が家ではルールを簡略化して、6歳の息子と他の拡張パックもあわせて、ドッグファイトを楽しんでいます。造形もそこそこよいのでコレクションとして飾るのもよいかとおもいます。

   ただし、購入の際には、メーカーホームページでの定価や米国での販売価格を調べ、適正な価格で出品されているかよく見極めてからの購入をおすすめします。

   I’m not really a tabletop gamer but I do enjoy collecting high quality Star Wars toys and I’m super, super pleased with my purchase. I was not expecting this to be so immersive and I’ve already bought a bunch of extra ships and a carrying case to keep it safe. Very good game!

   This was my 2nd X-Wing core set. I saw the price drop to around $30 CDN so I thought it would be worth it to pick up since 3 models + a set of dice would cost you over $50 if you bought them separately. The game is awesome, it feels like it can take awhile to learn but moves pretty quickly once you figure out the rules. It even has a great set of quick start rules that strips down the rules to a basic game for either teaching or playing with kids. The models do seem to be very fragile but in the 3 years I’ve owned my original core set I haven’t broken any pieces off. I would recommend putting them back in the plastic clam shell that they come in between plays to help keep them safe. Also the models look AWESOME, Fantasy Flight should do more pre-painted minis!
